Air New Zealand's newest leased aircraft has First-Class seats Air New Zealand's newest leased aircraft, a former Cathay Pacific plane, has six First-Class seats and plans to add a premium of nearly one thousand dollars for some flights. The seats will be repackaged as Business Premier Preferred, offering additional space and comfort. The plane will primarily fly on Auckland to Houston and Auckland to Melbourne routes. Air New Zealand CEO Leanne Geraghty stated that demand for travel is high and that adding capacity is a priority.
